Other Fairs n Forums
Have you ever wondered why the Ohio Renaissance Festival does not have a forum system on their web site? Per a conversation with Cheryl Bales, the VP/Marketing Director of ORF, Peter Carroll hates the internet. From first hand knowledge, he seems to hate it when people exchange information between themselves. In a calm business meeting, when I made a factual statement he screamed something about being sick of “renie rumor”. Well, there is a difference between rumors and discussions.
If you want to rule over a population, the first thing you must do is control its people’s ability to communicate. If you want to liberate a population, the first thing you must do is provide its population the ability to communicate with each other.
The following is a list of online forums and discussion groups dedicated to Renaissance Festivals which appear to be more or less neutral. I have listed them in alphabetical order so as not to give the impression I have a favorite or want to promote one over the other. Each has its benefits and draw backs.
I am NOT recommending you discuss this matter in public forums. Most forums would not allow the type of flaming that would surly follow. I am recommending that you look to see what people are saying about fairs other than the Ohio Renaissance Festival, find out where / when those other fairs, and communicate with people who attend those events to determine if they seem to be a better choice then the Ohio Renaissance Festival.
Fair Chasers (AKA Renspace) – Nice enough group of people but commercial software, advertising and frames. http://www.fairechasers.com/
Renaissance Creations – New Public Forum, fast software, few members. Not much to say about it other than I have used the software and like it.
Renaissance Festival dot Com - Listed as a friend and favorite at the official Ohio Renaissance Festival page, deletes anything negative said about the Ohio Renaissance Festival and has members who make up flat out lies about me running around in a spandex mini skirt posting away. This site represents the very worst example of people refusing to recognize the simple fact that there ARE things wrong in this world and people should be free to discuss those things openly. I removed the link because if you want to visit the place, I want you to have to make the extra effort to type it in. Ye ye, I know it is childish.
Other Renaissance Festivals in / around Ohio - Click here for a list of other Renaissance Festivals, Fairs, and like attractions in the general area of the Ohio Renaissance Festival. There are alternatives to giving your money to Peter Carroll.

This is incorrect,
Fair Chasers (AKA Renspace) – Nice enough group of people but commercial software, advertising and frames. http://www.fairechasers.com/
The RFC never was part of Renspace, nor did I host advertising and frames. What you are seeing was a message that the board was gone because of a sever crash. Please read what was being stated before posting about a site that severed the ren community for 5 years.

Formerly Lord Diodato - I intended no disrespect. When I click the link you provided, I get commercial software, advertisements, and frames. Right now, I am looking at an advertisement for free business cards and domain name registrations.
I do think I confused you with Renspace for some odd reason. They seem now to be gone. Sorry.
Like I said folk, nice people. Sorry to see their forum go and not sure why I see commercial advertisements there and they don’t think they are there. Kind of odd.
Maybe you guys let the registration slide and the people you purchased it from slipped it in?
