How dumb is ORF?
So I post that the pretzels are uncovered and that is a violation of health code. ORF responds by putting paper sleeves on them. Knock knock guys. Who’s there. Common sense. Common sense who? Exactly. It is becoming fairly obvious that portions of the staff and management of the Ohio Renaissance Festival are complete and utterly incompetant.
How could who ever is in charge of food services realize I was right about the pretzels and NOT immediately think about the other food which is commonly uncovered and left for bugs and bird poop at the Ohio Renaissance Festival.
Cookies (you frigging idiots) cover the damned cookies! Ya know, the only thing that pisses me off about this one is that I wasnt the one to get the photo first. Of course not, I am not allowed on the property. I wasn’t there and I don’t care what the rose walker says. It comes from someone who reportedly took it the first weekend of ORF and clearly shows a new cookie sales person with uncovered cookies.
Who ever is in charge of food services should really get fired before the health department goes medieval on ORF.

Words cannot totally express our resounding anger with your right now. You THINK you won a battle with the pretzels but honestly you didn’t. The pretzels aren’t individually wrapped they are only in paper bags..which not only dry out the pretzels but are hideous looking..definetly not period(annoyed about non-period guns but you want paper bags? contradictory are we???). On top of that.. they are open on two sides.. so they dont really protect the prezels from bird droppins or flys. As for the cheese sauce..Hello…have you ever looked at processed cheese sauce? We’ve worked in restaurants for years.. we can personally tell you.. it does NOT need refridgeration. Now onto the cookies.. really..if the patrons arent getting upset.. why are you?? Don’t eat the cookies if you have a problem with them. Yes I understand its a violation.. but so are many of the meals that an average house mom cooks everyday. People dont die from that.. You are fighting the wrong battles and annoying the people who should be your supporters… please.. wake up.. smell the star struck coffee and learn to rant and rave about something more important than cookies and pictures..
Oh and about firing the person in charge of food at ORF, do you honestly think you could find someone to do a better job at serving approx. 5,500 people for two days strait? We seriously doubt it.. trust us we know what we are talking about…

Twins in Blue - We? Hmmmmm.
Won a battle? No. I think I advised they should be covered, they refused claiming it was not required (you I think), and now that I made it public, well they are covered. I think I advised that they needed no slip mats in the showers, they refused, and now that I made it public they have provided non-slip mats. I say when I pointed to how bad Marietta Marsin screwed things up privately, they did nothing about it. I put it in the public eye, well Dan said he got her job and she got fired. Now it looks like they are blaming as much as possible on her as a scape goat. In fact, I think they are starting to blame lots of people when in reality it is Peter’s own fault. So yep, I figure the food services person is the next to get the axe. Why? Well because he can’t seem to do his job. Now, is that because Peter won’t let him? Ya know, he could have actually hired people, payed them proper wages… but nope… that is not in the budget.
Most corporations send their food services manager to continuing education and keep their certifications up to date. Does Peter Carroll do this? Probably not.
Yep, I think I could find someone with food service experience that could do better. Not sure if I could do it on Peter Carroll’s shoe string budget, but I wouldn’t line my pockets at the expense of public health either. On the other hand, a decent sized McDonalds probably serves more than that in a day and I dont think they pay all that much.
On the we thing, are you saying you work for ORF Inc? Or did that just slip out? Kind of rattled who ever you are.

this is the most rediculous argument I have ever seen. Go buy yourself a little plastic germ/cootie free bubble with shrink wrapped antibacterial cookies. If you dont like ORF, dont go. A lot of anger coming out over menial matter….are you perhaps a useless employee who was fired and now you are grasping at straws to lash out?? Hrmmm….

By the way, it’s a festival, not world domination. What are your thoughts on the current presidential running, gas prices, economic meltdown, and global matters? Or is just paper covered pretzels that you cant get past?

Jess
Well I think there are enough serious racists in the United States that if Obamma wins he will be killed by one of the nut cases and we will have very serious race riots. If Obamma looses, we will have another election followed by accusations of voter fraud and probably serious race riots.
Frankly, I do not like either of the presidential hopefuls but I like both of the potential VPs.
Gas prices and the economic meltdown? I think they are just about the same thing. Overall grocery prices have risen just as much as fuel cost over the last decade. I think the tadoo about gas prices is a distraction from the fact that the average cost of living all around has gone up far faster than the average income. I think when people are hungry, they will do what ever is necessary to feed themselves and their families. So I think there will probably be economic based riots.
“Global Matters” is a subject far to vast to get into here; but I will say I do not think the future is bright.
The thing is, I do not much care. After all, I am a 12 stepper and there are somethings I just can’t change. So instead I live on over 100 acres of land which is mostly hidden in the foot hills of apalachia.
There, my kith and kin raise our kids, crops, and animals as we watch the rest of the world fall apart. What is going on in the rest of the world is not something we look forward to, but it doesn’t really effect us much.
